These apps cover a range of audio measurements, some measure RTA and others FFT, they also range in data presentation - some display 2-D graphs, both. Aug 30, 2013 'Audio Frequency Analyzer' is a powerful Real-Time Audio Analyzer (RTA) app for iPhone. This app can measure the frequency response in 30 split band scale of 1/3 octave in realtime. Also it can be displayed the FFT analysis result. In the latest version, the 1/3 octave band calibration is avail.

Spectrum Analyzer is full of fantastic advanced features you won’t find elsewhere easily! This app offers a fast and accurate spectrum analysis suitable for both amateur hi-fi enthusiasts and professional A/V engineers. This incredibly precise, pro level tool is perfect for tuning your home cinema, car stereo, subwoofers, and more. Jimlistens, Great App to Analyze a Strange Noise in HomeWe had encountered a buzzing noise that came and went. The noise was coming from the ceiling my office like it was originating in attic. Was it a bee hive or hornet infestation, wind causing vibrations in eves or loose roof components or more serious issue some kind of electrical hum or buzz.
I thought if only I had a spectrum analyzer I could rule out an electrical issue if the noise was 60 HZ or a 120 Hz harmonic. So I thought my phone has a microphone and it certainly could analyze sound. So I found this App for my iphone. It showed the primary vibration was 101 HZ so I felt relieved. But what was it? The room next door was a bathroom and the noise was louder but still coming from the ceiling. So then I thought toilets can cause funny noises. I took off the tank lid and waited until the noise was loudest and touched the float arm hitch was connected to the auto shutoff valve.

It was vibrating like crazy and the noise went away. But I still could not understand why the noise was coming from above. Then I thought the plumbing stack vent was just like a pipe in a pipe organ. The vibration in the tank made the column of air in the stack vent resonate.Strangest annoying sound and plumbing issue I have ever heard of in my life. I fixed it by turning the float adjustment screw just a bit.The technology in a smart phone seems to be unlimited. Musicmosquito, Popup for Pro Every Few MinutesApp works great, the graphs and functions are decent and well laid out. The one big frustration is the CONSTANT popup asking me to buy the pro version.
Left the graph running on my desk for a moment, it popped up. Close it, watch the graph.
A minute later, it popped up again. It ended up popping up and blocking the entire screen four times in under ten minutes. If the popup was less frequent (maybe on app launch and every ten minutes or less), or costs less ($8.99 for pro), I’d rate this better. I’m not paying for the pro version simply due to how annoyed I was at the pushy attitude of the app, and have since uninstalled it. J torqe, “Upgrade to Pro” ruins it.This app works great and has a very nice interface. The only and very big downfall is every 2 minutes, I timed it, the app will stop working and a full page ad to “upgrade to pro version” covers the entire screen. You then have to press the close button to get rid of it and your good to go.
Then 2 minutes later the same thing pops up. This will happen every 2 min as long as you are using the app.
Very very distracting and annoying. If it was for this it would be 5 stars.
AudioTools from Studio Six Digital is a suite of professional-grade audio and acoustic analysis apps. Included in the price of this app is a great collection of professional tools - SPL, RTA, FFT, Speaker Polarity Test, Generator, Audio Scope, CLF Viewer, and Recorder, and the framework to add more powerful modules as you need them.Customize AudioTools for your needs by buying any of the additional optional modules, like Smaart Tools I, SPL Graph, or Impulse Response, at any time right from your iOS device. We test every iOS device and calibrate the microphone level and frequency response for the best results.
We have the ability to turn off the Apple low frequency filters, and on many devices we can measure up to 120 dB SPL.Add iTestMic, iPrecisionMic, or iAudioInterface2 for a complete professional audio and acoustic test and measurement platform.Actual reviews:“.AudioTools is a “how did I ever live without it” app”.“I think this application is the best I EVER purchased.”“I have used many thousands of dollars of complicated test equipment that doesn’t measure up to this app suite.”. Included in the app price. SPL MeterA faithful reproduction of a classic analog SPL meter. Includes A and C weighting, and Fast and Slow ANSI decay modes. All filters meet or exceed ANSI type 1. RTAA 1/3 and octave band Real Time Analyzer. Includes touch-GUI range control, a cursor, max/min bars, and noise curve overlays.

PolaritySpeaker polarity checker. Frankdog51, Some calculations are wrong.I REALKY WANTED THIS APP TO WORK TO SAVE ME TIME ANALYZING ROOM DESIGN.
I CAN’T TRUST IT!! In room mode calc - for an example - this calculator is not consistent with most university calculators I can find through the series of frequencies you need to have to design room dimensions. Kind of difficult for me to put trust in this. As in most coding that’s heavy in multiple simple mathematical computations it is quite easy to make mistakes. I have bought a few of the sections from this company because some of them are handy and fast but I don’t trust ANY of the computations in this app because of the errors I have found. Ho to a good acoustical engineering college site - the european colleges are the best but you will have to convert to meters a lot but this is something that you can learn to do quickly with google calculator, even if you are a math dunce. It is probably going to be difficult for most people to analyze all these numbers in a full mathematical stat output but if you take your time you will - I hope - see the patterns.
Just methodically look for numbers being close together. Acoustics are for math wizards, I guess, but it is a damned shame these people don’t really understand math and/or are sloppy coders.
Is this app just another “money maker” for a sloppy coder?? There are far more sloppy coders than math wizard coders out there. Oh well, back to the spreadsheets. This IS ok for on-the-run pocket calculations but don’t trust it. Developer Response,Hi,Thanks for your feedback, we would like to connect with you to see where you are finding discrepancies. We work hard to get all of the modules to pass ISO Type One certification, but if there is something we have missed we will surely correct it. Please email us on [email protected], as we can't get information from the reviews.Best,Andrew.
BanderaT, Almost every tool you will ever needI have used this app for setting up sound systems (pinpointing feed back quick and easy), tuning speaker cabinets, mastering Cds. You will need more than this but its another tool. Few jobs can be done with just one tool. Yes to make some things easier you will need to purchase some additional tools. Still When a mechanic buys a tool box he generally adds more tools. No doubt your ears are your most important tools that you have, but this suit of apps are definitely a huge help. With this app you get a lot for 20 bucks. The additional modules make a complete tool box.
With the ability to see what you hearing. Dfghhjjjjhgfffgg, Awesome appI’ve used this app for years now and have not rated it but it has always been up in the 4-5 star range. Great updates and quick to fix any bugs. I thought I bought the SPL pro once but it never transferred to my newer devices. I could be wrong it was quite a while ago, but everything else has always transferred with all my new devices.
I found that there is an option to restore purchases but I did have to click the SPL pro button first for the choice to restore to come up.Andrew did respond but I had already figured it out. Thanks for your help and quick response. Developer Response,Hi,Everything should come back with the Restore Purchases function, unless you had some in-apps that were bought from another App Store account.-Andrew.
